Republic of Ireland Under-21 international Jacob Devaney has joined Hibernian on a season-long loan from Manchester United. Hibs also have an option to make the 19-year-old midfielder's move to Easter Road permanent. Devaney signed his first professional contract with United in 2023 and played a part in the senior side’s pre-season, coming off the bench and scoring against Rosenborg last month. He has previously featured in the Scottish Premiership, making 18 appearances on loan with St Mirren during the second half of the 2025-26 season. Hibs head coach David Gray told the club website: "We’re really pleased to bring Jacob to the club. He already has experience of Scottish football and knows the demands of the Premiership, which will be important as he settles into the squad. "He’s a technically talented young international footballer who is keen to learn and develop, and we’re looking forward to seeing what he can bring to the group. "To have him join before the end of the window is really positive, and we’ll look to get him settled in as quickly as possible." Devaney joins three other Irish players in the Hibernian ranks, with Jamie McGrath, Owen Elding and Warren O'Hora all at the Edinburgh club.
