Viljami Sinisalo has highlighted the general mood from within the Celtic camp ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League play-off. Sinisalo has started all of the Hoops’ games so far this season and remains first choice. The club have another goalkeeper on their radar this summer to provide healthy competition for the 24-year-old. Blackburn Rovers’ Balazs Toth has been heavily linked, with the Hungarian reportedly of interest after winning the Players’ Player of the Year award for his exploits last season. Three world class strikes secured the first-leg win for Martin O’Neill’s side, and Sinisalo was called into action to prevent the Austrian champions from finding a way back into the game. The visitors had two goals ruled out for offside – including a brilliant finish just 27 seconds into the game. The Finnish international produced a key save just after the hour mark to keep them at bay. He believes there is still much more to come from this Celtic side. He said (BBC Sport): “I think we can be better, as weird as it may sound. The big moments went for us and there’s a lot that we can do better. “Ultimately we’ve come away with a 3-0 win so we’ve got to be happy, but I think there’s a lot more to come from the group. “You’re at a football club where big moments matter and you need to be accounted for when those moments come, because they might come once or twice in a game, probably a few more on Tuesday. “But if there’s a game where I need to make that many saves, I think something else could have been better. We understand that as a group and ideally I want to be a Celtic goalie that doesn’t need to make that many saves. So that’s got to be the message. “There’s a lot more to come from the group. I didn’t think we were brilliant, we were okay at times and some of the football we played was good, but I think we can be a lot better. “They’re a decent side and they’ll cause us problems when we go there. It’s not over, it’s half-time. No one’s getting carried away or ahead of ourselves.” His comments reiterate the message that O’Neill, Callum McGregor and Auston Trusty publicly stated after Wednesday night’s victory. There is no room for complacency as they now gear up for the clash at the Raiffeisen Arena. The Hoops have had plenty of time to do their homework ahead of the all-or-nothing showdown, having taken up the option to postpone their league clash with St Johnstone at the weekend. LASK followed suit and have had their own time to focus fully on trying to claw their way back. Sinisalo’s message is clear and will encourage supporters. This isn’t a team content to sit and give themselves a pat on the back – they’re going out to Austria to win and take their place back in Europe’s elite club competition.
