By AMANDA VINCENT Legacy Motor Club driver John Hunter Nemechek will have a different No. on his Toyota Camry in Sunday’s Dollar Tree 301 NASCAR Cup race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon. Instead of his usual No. 42, he’ll be behind the wheel of the No. 40 entry. “Not a typo. @JHNemechek will run the no. 40 this weekend in New Hampshire in honor of @DollarTree’s 40th anniversary!” Legacy Motor Club posted on social media. The temporary number change is to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Dollar Tree, also the primary sponsor on Nemechek’s car. Nemechek’s car still will be considered the No. 42 entry, and all points earned and his finish will be credited to the No. 42 team. Nemechek is 28th in the driver points standings with two races remaining in the regular season. He has a top-five and two top-10 finishes this season. He has a best finish of eighth at NHMS, notched in 2024.
