The wizardry of Rashid Khan helped Afghanistan claim a 92-run victory over Ireland in Bready to move 1-0 up in the five-match ODI series. After Wednesday's opener was a washout, premier white-ball spinner Khan made the difference in match two with six for 34 to dismiss Ireland for 207 in response to 299 for eight from Afghanistan. Opener Ibrahim Zadran did the bulk of the damage for Afghanistan with 84 before key contributions by Rahmanullah Gurbaz (32), Seqiqullah Atal (45), Rahmat Shah (30), Azmatullah Omarzai (33) and Hashmatullah Shahidi (36 not out) set a victory target of 300. Ireland looked in control despite the early dismissal of captain Paul Stirling and made it to 96 for one before Khan accounted for Andy Balbirnie for 33. Number three Cade Carmichael made it to 50, but he was out for 62 and Ireland collapsed from 198 for five to 207 all out with Khan running through the tail in rapid fashion to put Afghanistan one up with three ODIs to go.
