The Miami Dolphins have an injury concern with linebacker Trey Moore during the preseason Week 2 game against the New York Giants. Trey Moore injury update UPDATE: After being helped off the field, Moore exited to the locker room on a cart. “Trey Moore has left on a cart,” the Palm Beach Post’s Joe Schad reported. END OF UPDATE UPDATE: Moore had to be helped off the field by trainers and was unable to put any weight on his injured left leg. His day is now over. “Trainers are looking at Trey Moore’s lower left leg after he landed awkwardly pressuring Jameis Winston on that incomplete pass to the end zone,” David Furones of the Sun Sentinel reported. “No weight being put on the left leg as he’s helped off the field.” As of this writing it remains unclear what injury he’s dealing with exactly, but it doesn’t look good initially. Impact of Trey Moore’s injury A hybrid inside/outside linebacker, Trey Moore was the Miami Dolphins’ fourth-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft in April. Moore is slated to take on a starting role with the Dolphins and is even listed with the ones on Miami’s official depth chart. “Moore has been a very valuable and versatile weapon who Jeff Hafley was moving all over the field in practice and in preseason Week 1,” Joe Schad wrote. “He gives you a linebacker who can play all three downs,” Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley said. “He can play in zone, is good against the run, and has rush value. I like the way he’s practiced.” If Moore misses an extended period of time, the Dolphins are going to have to figure out who will replace him.
