Here is the TNA Lockdown preview: everything you need to know about the upcoming TNA Lockdown 2026 PLE in one piece. Shortly after revealing all the PLE and live iMPACT dates for 2026, TNA Wrestling announced that one of professional wrestling’s most iconic and feared events was back. TNA Lockdown is a showcase event in which every single match is contested inside a steel cage, marking TNA’s first Lockdown event since 2016.
TNA Wrestling debuted Lockdown in 2005, making it the first pro wrestling pay-per-view in which every match was contested inside a steel cage. The event quickly became one of TNA’s flagship annual events. The inaugural PLE introduced the Lethal Lockdown match, TNA’s signature take on the classic WarGames match, in which two teams enter the cage one by one in alternating fashion, with the fully enclosed, weapon-laden cage not unlocked until all competitors have entered.
TNA Wrestling’s Lockdown 2026 airs live this Sunday night, from the Credit Union 1 Arena in Chicago, IL, at 6 PM ET on TNA Plus. A Countdown to TNA Lockdown will air live for free at 5 PM ET on the TNA Wrestling YouTube Channel and TNA Plus.

TNA Lockdown Preview (8/23/26) – The Nygma’s View & Predictions
With ten matches announced, TNA Lockdown 2026 has a pretty strong card. Except for the Countdown bout, the card was complete last week. As Nic Nemeth teams up with his brother against the Hardys for the TNA World Tag Team Championship, the TNA World Championship can’t be defended.
Five TNA Championships are on the line. The inaugural TNA Knockouts Television Champion won’t be crowned that night, probably on Thursday Night iMPACT Live on August 27. Jada Stone is involved in the Lethal Lockdown match, and M by Elegance in the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship bout. Let’s Nygma-dive into the PLE card.
The Countdown to TNA Lockdown – No-Cage Matches
First on Countdown to Lockdown, The Righteous are set to face off against BDE and Rich Swann in chaotic tag team action.
The Nygma says: After being “Deleted” by the Hardys, what was next for Vincent and Dutch? They revealed they had great plans for BDE, and they wanted to save him from Rich Swann. BDE still has a lot to prove when Swann is a former TNA X-Division and World Champion, which means a great teacher. It’s just a first match between the two duos, so I give it to the Righteous to let BDE and Swann find revenge later.
Trey Miguel made his surprise return last week in six-man tag team action against Mustafa Ali, and now his rivalry with Order 4 continues when he battles Special Agent 0.
The Nygma says: Special Agent 0 doesn’t say anything, but his actions always speak louder than his words. On the August 13, 2026, iMPACT episode, Jason Hotch saved Trey Miguel from Order 4, but not from Special Agent Zero. Before facing Mustafa Ali, an angry Miguel demanded to face Special Agent Zero. Order 4 may currently be in trouble; Special Agent 0 is way on top of that. I don’t expect anything other than a DQ.
Non-Titles Matches in a Cage
The score is far from settled between Elijah and AJ Francis. After Elijah injured Expressions with Highwayman’s Farewell a few weeks ago and helped The Home Town Man take down Francis last week, their rivalry has only intensified. Now, there will be nowhere to run when these two powerhouses meet inside the steel cage for The Final Encore.
The Nygma says: Elijah vs. AJ Francis is the classic “face vs. heel” bout. At TNA Slammiversary, Elijah defeated Francis, but it was not enough. Francis wanted more, and the Drifter accepted this challenge. The “Final Encore” means it should be the last match between Francis and Elijah. The cage changes the game, as there’s no possible DQ, which perfectly fits AJ Francis. Then, if Elijah wants to continue his walk to the Championships, a Steel Cage win will be a bonus.
Meanwhile, Moose and Frankie Kazarian will meet one-on-one for the first time ever in an Escape the Cage Match.
The Nygma says: This is a first. Frankie Kazarian has never faced Moose in the iMPACT Zone. That makes this bout an absolute must-watch. The Face of the Franchise faces The King of TNA. Two pillars of the company square off. The Escape the Cage stipulation means the only way to win is to leave the cage from the top or the door. Honestly, whoever wins, it will be a great match. That’s all that matters for me here.
The classic Lethal Lockdown returns for the first time in nearly a decade! As announced by Director of Authority Santino Marella, The System will battle KC Navarro, Ricky Sosa, Fabian Aichner, and Jada Stone inside the steel cage, where weapons are allowed and chaos is all but guaranteed. Brian Myers secured the advantage for The System last Thursday, but can they capitalize and keep TNA Wrestling’s rising stars down when the cage door closes?
The Nygma says: A cage + some toys = Hardcore Nygma. The match recipe has everything I love. Sadly, I can’t help but think that it looks a bit too much like the Hardcore War at TNA Bound for Glory 2025 (without the cage). Expect chains, tables, barbed wire, kendo sticks, trash cans, baseball bats, maybe a staple gun, and thumbtacks. The System has the advantage, but does that mean they have to win?
