Massimiliano Allegri’s coaching of AC Milan last season certainly could’ve been criticised after what happened at the end of the season, but Ruben Amorim has not taken that route. There are certainly a few who were left disappointed by Allegri last season. After all, the Italian was the Champions League guarantee. Things began to unfurl and when they did, Allegri couldn’t stop the rot as Milan finished outside the top four again. A matter made much worse by his constant repetitions about the Rossoneri’s chances of a top-four finish. As a result of that failure, Gerry Cardinale opted to fire him, as well as several other key members of the management, replacing him with Ruben Amorim. Amorim speaks about Allegri When asked about his predecessor, Amorim spoke highly of him and his methods, as Calciomercato.com relayed this afternoon. “I think you can see how we try to move the ball quickly. We’re trying to manoeuvre well from the back, without taking the risks we saw against Celtic, when we lost so many balls. We can improve a lot physically, but I think we played well overall. “We can still improve in everything, starting with ball control: the more possession we have, the less risky we are. But it’s something we need to work on: looking back at this match, I think we need more possession to control the game better.” “My players are all great professionals. Last year they were coached very well by Allegri and it shows.”
