Tyreek Hill has been a free agent since February, and with Week 1 roughly three weeks away, the wait is not ending anytime soon. His longtime agent Drew Rosenhaus made that official on Friday.
Drew Rosenhaus Rules Out Any Preseason Deal For Hill
Hill suffered a dislocated left knee and multiple torn ligaments, including his ACL and LCL, in Week 4 of last season against the New York Jets. He played just four games in 2025 before Miami released him in February.
Drew Rosenhaus joined The Pat McAfee Show this week and confirmed that his client, still rehabbing a severe knee injury, will not sign with any team before the regular season begins. A clip of Rosenhaus’ comments, shared by ESPN, showed the veteran agent describing recent progress in Hill’s recovery without committing to any firm return date.
“I don’t expect Tyreek to sign before the season. He sent me a video yesterday; this is good timing of him running hills, and he looked great,” Rosenhaus said. “And he said to me, ‘I still have some work to do. I’m not ready yet.'”
Rosenhaus made clear the timeline belongs entirely to Hill. “I am not pressuring Tyreek, nor am I setting a timeline for him,” he said. “Take your time. It’s not when you come back. It’s how you come back.”
He called the injury “devastating” but predicted, “not hyperbole,” that Hill will play at some point this season and will be a coveted addition once he does sign.
Tyreek Hill Remains Patient as Recovery Timeline Stretches On
Hill described his own recovery in stark terms just a month earlier. He had “no power” in his left leg roughly 10 months after surgery, a reminder of how far a return to game speed still requires.
Rosenhaus indicated money is not the deciding factor. Hill is prioritizing a Super Bowl contender over simply matching recent deals signed by receivers like Stefon Diggs and Keenan Allen.
No specific team has been confirmed as the frontrunner, though speculation about a Kansas City reunion has persisted throughout the offseason. For now, Hill remains unsigned, with his camp betting that patience will pay off once he actually takes the field.
