The Dallas Cowboys have kept quarterback Dak Prescott’s name in headlines all summer, from contract talk to his declared pursuit of a first Super Bowl title. A resurfaced video from earlier this year gave fans a different reason to talk about him this week.
Prescott built his charity around his late mother’s memory nearly a decade ago. The gala where the viral moment took place has quietly become one of the most consistent parts of his offseason calendar.
Dak Prescott seen vibing to Kane Brown’s singing performance
A clip shared this week showed Prescott beside Brown on stage, dancing and gesturing while the country star sings into a microphone. The two have been friends for years and are frequently compared for their physical resemblance.
The footage actually dates back to Prescott’s Faith Fight Finish Foundation Gala on July 17, where Brown closed out the night with a live set after a program that raised money for cancer research and mental health causes. Kaylee Hartung, the NFL sideline reporter and Today Show correspondent, moderated the evening’s program at the Thompson hotel in downtown Dallas.

Prescott explained why the foundation still matters this deeply to him. “At the end of the day, you know what you do when people aren’t looking,” he told the Dallas Morning News. “Your word is everything. I’ve heard a million times, it takes 25 years to build a reputation and five seconds to ruin it.”
The gala raised $1.5 million this year, continuing a run of fundraising totals that have topped a million dollars in recent editions. Kane Brown is not new to Cowboys circles either, having previously performed at AT&T Stadium during a Thanksgiving Day halftime show.
Dak Prescott keeps building reputation beyond football this offseason
This is not the first time a feel-good Prescott clip has spread online this year. In February, a video of him relaxing with his daughters went viral for similar reasons, and analysts have floated him as a potential 2026 MVP candidate largely because of how he carries himself on and off the field. The pattern says something about how Cowboys fans have come to see him, win or lose on Sundays.
The foundation’s reach keeps expanding too. Local Profile reported the 2026 gala welcomed donors, community leaders and advocates across North Texas, all supporting the same four pillars Prescott set out nearly a decade ago.
Prescott and the Cowboys open the regular season next month with Super Bowl talk following him into every press conference. Moments like the one with Brown are a reminder that his offseason has carried a different kind of pressure than the one waiting for him under center. Dallas opens the regular season September 7 against the New York Giants.
