Victoria Police has also confirmed that detectives from its Sexual Crimes Squad continue to investigate an alleged sexual assault at a hotel in East Melbourne in the early hours of August 17. Police have said a number of people have been spoken to as detectives work to establish the exact circumstances. The Swans have cooperated with police but have strongly rejected speculation that any club staff member was involved in the hotel room at the centre of the investigation. For now, the latest development adds another piece to an already complicated investigation rather than providing a definitive answer.
