Rebecca Lowe makes 'Ted Lasso' cameo

It’s been a remarkable year for Rebecca Lowe. The longtime Premier League host has had the incredible feat of hosting the Winter Olympics and the World Cup in the same year, in addition to her weekly duties as the host of Premier League coverage on NBC. While she has worked the last several Olympics for NBC, she was also the lead World Cup host for Fox Sports for the first time this year. Her work drew widespread acclaim alongside the combustible trio of Thierry Henry, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Alexi Lalas. And this weekend, she will return to NBC as the new Premier League season gets underway. But now Rebecca Lowe can check one more item off the 2026 bucket list: guest-starring in Ted Lasso. Season four of Ted Lasso is underway on Apple TV with the focus shifting to AFC Richmond’s women’s team. And in the third episode of the new season, Lowe shows up as a commentator alongside former England national team star Jill Scott. She even makes a quip about the power of soccer on streaming platforms, which makes sense given how Apple TV is the home of Major League Soccer. (Of course, given both sides are ending the deal early, just how much of an inside joke that is might be up for debate.) It also brings the series somewhat full circle, given that the character of Ted Lasso began many years ago, with Jason Sudeikis starring in commercials promoting NBC’s Premier League coverage all the way back in 2013. You could say that both Ted Lasso and Rebecca Lowe have enjoyed a meteoric rise since then.
