Stadion kraj Save upgrade moves closer to completion in Slavonski Brod - by croatiaweek - in Sport SLAVONSKI BROD, Croatia – Work on the new western section of the southern stand at Stadion kraj Save in Slavonski Brod is moving into its final stages, as the stadium continues its transformation into a modern football venue. The latest works are focused on finishing the interior and exterior of the stand and completing its technical systems. Inside, painting is under way, while electricians are installing switches, sockets, lighting and other final electrical fittings. Sanitary facilities are also being fitted with final fixtures, including washbasins and toilets, Grad Slavonski Brod said. Work is also progressing on the building’s heating and cooling system, with testing expected to begin shortly. At the same time, the connection of the stadium’s rooftop solar power plant to the public electricity grid is being completed. Once operational, the system will allow the stadium to generate part of its own electricity. Outside, contractors are carrying out final metalwork and façade works, while landscaping around the new stand is also continuing. The new section covers approximately 840 square metres and will provide 666 spectator seats, including four spaces adapted for people with disabilities. The stand will also include facilities for players, spectators, media and technical staff. Planned facilities include media work areas, a restaurant, police facilities, a medical point, ticket sales, sanitary facilities, equipment storage and technical rooms. Media representatives will have a dedicated entrance and access to a mixed zone for post-match interviews. The project is part of the wider modernisation of Stadion kraj Save, the home of NK Marsonia. The western section of the southern stand is being built as an extension of the existing eastern and central sections. The contract for the works is worth more than €3.18 million including VAT. Once the western section is completed, the southern stand will have around 2,196 seats.
