Erskine Rennie has joined the Fulham academy from Celtic B on a scholarship agreement. Rennie has signed a deal until 2029, and Celtic are believed to receive around £80,000. Reflecting on the move, the former Bhoys forward admitted it was a no-brainer in comments that are unlikely to go down well with Celtic supporters. He said (Fulham FC): “It feels really good to sign for Fulham. “It’s good to get it done and I just want to get started and play my first games. “A London club, with the history of Fulham, with the reputation of the academy, it was a no-brainer to sign here. “I’m an attacking player. My first thought is always to beat my man, use my pace, get balls in the box, attack, attack, attack.” A new arrival. 👋 The Club is delighted to announce the signing of Erskine Rennie. — Fulham Academy (@FulhamAcademy) August 21, 2026 Rennie’s move to England is another example of young Celtic prospects being poached by English Premier League sides, and given the fact he is only 16, it puts more pressure on the Hoops to give players first-team game time as soon as they are eligible. Celtic fans will keep an eye on the Scottish striker and see how he develops at Fulham, but it is certainly a problem for the Hoops that so many academy players often move on before being given a chance in the first team. Time will tell whether Rennie made the right decision to leave Celtic, but the club will hope to resolve the issue that has long affected the pathway from Celtic B to the first team.
