Two Leeds United aces on the chopping block after latest brutal snub – one replacement already identified

Leeds United kick off their Premier League campaign when they take on Nottingham Forest this afternoon.
Barring any unforeseen changes, you would imagine that James Trafford, Tarik Muharemovic and Harry Wilson are all in line to make their competitive debut for the club today.
Yesterday, Leeds posted the official squad numbers ahead of the 2026/27 campaign. Trafford was given the number 1. Muharemovic was given the number 5, and Wilson was given the number 10 shirt. This suggests all three players will be regulars in Daniel Farke’s starting XI.
However, two other Leeds players were brutally snubbed from this list entirely as the pair are evidently not a part of our plans for next season.
Mateo Joseph and Largie Ramazani were not even given a shirt number by Leeds ahead of the new season
Ultimately, it’s no surprise that neither Mateo Joseph nor Largie Ramazani were given a shirt number at Leeds ahead of the new season.
Both players spent last year out on loan in La Liga.
Joseph had a poor spell at Mallorca as they were ultimately relegated. The 22-year-old forward scored two league goals in 29 appearances. Unfortunately, this was before suffering an ACL injury towards the backend of the campaign.
Ramazani went to Valencia and was in and out of the starting XI at various points. The Belgian winger did still manage to score six league goals and provide one assist in 1250 total La Liga minutes, however. (Sofascore)
Ramazani certainly doesn’t deserve to be treated so harshly by the club. He’s clearly a talented player, but Farke just doesn’t fancy him. I’m not saying he should be reintegrated into the squad or anything like that. However, our treatment of the winger does seem rather brutal.
Hopefully Valencia just end up meeting our demands to bring this ugly Ramazani transfer saga to an end. Farke also confirmed that Ramazani would not be a part of the squad for this season after our final pre-season game against Augsburg, per Leeds Live.
Joseph, on the other hand, I completley agree with the youngster not being given a number. Last year, he refused to travel to our pre-season camp in Germany as he forced a move away.
As soon as he recovers from his injury, I’d be looking to move him on.
Mykhailo Mudryk could be our latest winger signing
The fact that Ramazani was not given a number also just reinforces the fact that we need to sign another left winger.
Mykhailo Mudryk appears as if he could be the man the 49ers sign to bolster Farke’s options in that area.
After being out of action since November 2024, Mudryk has resolved his doping case with the FA and is eligible to return to action.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Mudryk is set to leave Chelsea on loan in the coming days. United were said to have sent a loan proposal which was rejected by Chelsea, but negotiations will continue.
Strasbourg are also said to be interested. But Romano’s report suggests Mudryk would prefer a move to another Premier League club. This hands Leeds a massive boost in their hopes of signing the 25-year-old.
It’s certainly a move that would come with a lot of risks given his lack of game time recently. So, as Ramazani appears to be getting pushed closer and closer to the exit, it may not be long before another winger ends up arriving in West Yorkshire to replace him.
