Marash Kumbulla has left Roma on loan for a La Liga side for the third consecutive summer. Rayo Vallecano are the takers this time around after agreeing a deal for the defender to spend the season on the outskirts of the Spanish capital of Madrid. It follows his spells with Espanyol and Mallorca, which in turn came after a loan stint in Serie A with Sassuolo. Kumbulla, 26, last played for Roma in the 2022-23 season, ending up on 68 appearances for the club. One year will remain on his contract by the time his latest loan spell finishes, although Roma will be hoping his move can become permanent – which would be possible via the option to buy clause inserted in the deal.
