According to the Pembroke Pines Police Department, officers responded to the venue just before 12:30 a.m. after receiving reports of two people engaging in sexual activity at the bar. Police said surveillance footage reviewed by investigators showed the ex-NFL player, 35, of Miramar, and Karina Manderson, 35, of Pembroke Pines, in a compromising position, and a witness told officers they observed the pair engaged in intercourse, court documents state. Meanwhile, an NFL star retired mid-training camp after signing a $1.41 million contract. When the witness asked them to stop, police said Bailey pulled up his pants, and the two slowly left the bar area. Speaking with investigators, both Bailey and Manderson admitted to having consumed multiple alcoholic shots at the bar prior to the incident. Bailey told police that both he and Manderson had their pants down and that he was exposing himself, though he insisted that "penetration never took place." Police said there was no evidence suggesting either of their drinks had been tampered with. Both individuals were arrested later that morning and charged with indecent exposure. They have both pleaded not guilty to one misdemeanor count each of exposure of sexual organs, according to court documents. Bailey played three seasons in the NFL as a wide receiver for the St. Louis Rams from 2013 to 2015 after being selected in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He had earned first-team All-American honors at West Virginia University in 2012, setting the program's single-season receiving yardage record with 1,279 yards the year prior. Over his NFL career, Bailey appeared in 38 games, recording 59 receptions for 843 yards and two touchdowns, including a punt return touchdown against the Seattle Seahawks in 2014 that earned him NFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors. Bailey's career was ultimately cut short following a shooting in Miami Gardens on November 24, 2015. He was struck twice in the head while sitting in a parked car alongside three family members when unknown assailants opened fire before fleeing the scene. Bailey underwent surgery the following day and survived his injuries, though he never returned to professional football. He later worked briefly with the Rams' coaching staff before joining his alma mater, West Virginia, as a student assistant coach. Bailey has longstanding ties to South Florida, having attended both Miami Carol City Senior High School and Miramar High School before his college career at West Virginia.
