Aysu Biçer 21 August 2026•Update: 21 August 2026 West Ham United have condemned an “offensive and divisive chant” directed at Israeli winger Manor Solomon and urged supporters to refrain from singing it during their first Championship home match of the season against Charlton on Saturday. The chant, which contains an anti-Palestine message, was sung by a section of West Ham’s away support during Sunday’s 2-2 draw at Burnley, where Solomon scored on his debut for the London club. In a statement, West Ham said: “We encourage our supporters to sing loud and proud about their football club and the players wearing the claret and blue shirt, but never in a way that creates division or causes offence among fellow fans.” “We expect those who represent the club – be that players, staff, officials or supporters – to share those values and ensure that, regardless of individual backgrounds or beliefs, we are as our name says: United,” it added. Solomon, 27, joined West Ham from Tottenham this month for a reported £5 million ($6.7 million) fee. He has also played for Fulham and Leeds in England.
