With multiple fights going on at the same time, coaches Brian Schottenheimer and Kellen Moore nearly called off the session early. Multiple fights broke out simultaneously, with reports tracking anywhere from six to double-digit separate altercations. Saints receiver and WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner’s son Brock Rechsteiner headlined for hitting a suplex on Cowboys safety Jalen Thompson. Meanwhile, Cowboys linebacker Donovan Ezeiruaku was ejected for throwing a punch, marking his second training camp ejection Citing a memo sent to all 32 teams before camp, the NFL said in a statement that clubs were warned to prevent "unsportsmanlike behavior at joint practices that has the potential to result in injury." When coach Schottenheimer was asked about the brawl, he said, "There's a discipline element to playing this football game, and unfortunately we didn't handle that very well today," adding the workout got "a little chippy. Not the way we like to do business." Cowboys owner Jerry Jones recently confirmed that Dallas intends to appeal the league's ruling. While Jones characterized the $500,000 penalty as "stiff, not harsh," he made it clear the organization will issue internal fines to the individual players involved, specifically calling out linebacker Ezeiruaku.
