SATURDAY Glenswilly v Killybegs (3pm) High-flying Glenswilly will be fancied to take two more points from this one. Michael Murphy is, as always, a driving force, and they have been strengthened in recent weeks by the return of some Statesiders. Killybegs had a titanic tussle with Dungloe last weekend before just losing out, while Glenswilly had a comfortable win over Downings. They can go three from three here. Glenfin v Kilcar (5pm) Kilcar have had a traumatic time and their return to action will be an emotional one after the sad passing of stalwart James McHugh and his wife Noreen. It is never easy taking points from Pairc Taobhoige, where Frank McGlynn is player manager. Luke McGlynn has returned from the US, while Shaun Ward is a dangerous marksman. However, if the McHugh clan and Patrick McBrearty are on board for the visitors then an away win is possible. Naomh Conaill v Termon (7.30pm) This could be the tie of the round between two sides teeming with talent, both of whom got their first wins last weekend, against Aodh Ruadh and Glenfin respectively. The Glenties men look set to have Ciaran Thompson, Finbarr Roarty, Max Campbelll, Shay Malone back in action, while Daire McDaid, Ryan McFadden and Enda McCormick are big scorers for Termon. TOMORROW St Eunan’s v Naomh Columba (2pm) Warmly fancied St Eunan’s got a jolt to the system last weekend when they were a bit lucky to salvage a draw with an impressive Sean MacCumhaills. Naomh Columba are pointless and this will be a tough away assignment for them. Eunan’s have the power and pace up front, but they can’t be depending all the time on the excellent Shane O’Donnell to man the barricades. They have a lot more strength in depth and should prevail against the men from Glen, who will be inspired by Aaron Doherty and Paul O’Hare. Dungloe v Downings (2pm) Dungloe are looking to make it six points from three games after an impressive start to the championship. And, they will be warmly fancied to do the business against a Downings side who have just one point, picked up against Naomh Conaill. Ryan Connors is back to beef up their challenge along with the Currans and Greenes. Downings depend heavily on Johnny McGroddy and the uber-elegant Paddy McElwee for their scores, but the Rosses Park men are taken to advance. Ardara v Aodh Ruadh (2pm) This is a real crunch affair as both sides are pointless. Aodh Ruadh put in a sterling display against Naomh Conaill in the first half but got steamrolled when the Glenties machine got going. Ardara put up a good showing against St Michael’s but just fell short. CJ Molloy and Eoghan Ban McNelis are big players for Ardara, while Aodh Ruadh miss the injured Jack Gallagher. Ardara might just edge it after a tight battle. Four Masters v St Michael’s (4.30pm) FOUR Masters’ tie with Kilcar was called off due to the double tragedy in Towney. They already have two points, having beaten Killybegs in their opening encounter. St Michael’s beat Ardara after losing to Gaoth Dobhair in the opening tie. Michael Langan is a match-winner for them any day, while Masters could be welcoming some of the Carrs back from the US. Masters won the SFL title for the first time in many years. They are well stocked with youthful talent and are taken to win this one at home. Gaoth Dobhair v Sean MacCumhaill (4.30pm) THE big question for the Twin Towns men is, will Oisin Gallen be able to play? The gifted striker had to sit out last week’s impressive draw with St Eunan’s and will be vital for this away trip to Magheragallonn. Gaoth Dobhair beat Naomh Columba last week and have four points. They should be able to increase that tally to six points on Sunday.
