WWE SmackDown tonight emanates from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, as the Blue brand looks to put up a Premium Live Event-level show in the “Great White North.” This Friday night, we will have an Undisputed WWE Championship match. Why? Well, let’s start with the main event of the evening: CM Punk defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens. The “Prized Fighter” made his grand return to WWE after 17 months away on night 2 of SummerSlam 2026. There, Owens would literally stun his way to becoming number one contender, setting up a match that has been brewing for the last two decades. If you’re not in the know, Punk and Owens have had this animosity dating back to their days in the Ring of Honor, where Punk was the main event star and K.O., then Kevin Steen, was just on the come-up. Owens believes that Punk has had it out for him and his friends for a long time and doesn’t believe he’s changed. Punk, on the other hand, doesn’t care; he doesn’t regret anything, and he proved that he’s the “Best in the World.” The amazing thing about these two is that this Undisputed WWE Title Match will be their very first against one another, which is mind-blowing considering their shared disdain. As far as how the match will go, Kevin Owens will have the support of his home country, fueling the already amped up K.O. As for Punk, he’s been used to hostile territory everywhere he went that isn’t Chicago. We think K.O. will come extremely close to securing his first world title in nearly 10 years. Still, a certain “Last Real Good Guy” could prove the difference-maker and screw his friend over, like he felt K.O. did at SummerSlam, leading to Punk putting a damper on Owens’ homecoming. Speaking of champions, Tama and Talla Tonga, the #AndNEW WWE Tag Team Champions, get to work immediately, a week removed from their title win. Their opponents? The former WWE Tag Team Champions R-Truth and Damian Priest. MFT went to war with Truth, Priest, and The War Raiders on last week’s SmackDown, resulting in a tag team battle that left the Philly crowd amazed. Due to their inability to thrive under Solo Sikoa, most counted MFT out to win, but with Haku leading the way, Tama and Talla were more devastating than ever, as they hoisted up the WWE Tag Team Championship. There really is no rest for the wicked as they once again put it up for grabs. MFT is looking mighty unstoppable right now, and we feel last week’s win is just the beginning of a long period of dominance. On WWE SmackDown tonight in Toronto, we will also see the highly-anticipated debut of “The Glamour” Blake Monroe. For months, Monroe has been teasing that she’ll arrive on SmackDown. She did, but she never competed in the ring until this Friday. Blake Monroe lied and waited until she found the most vulnerable of targets in the form of the “Beautiful Madness” Giulia. Giulia has been on quite the rut, losing the Women’s U.S. Title, having her representative turn her back on her, as well as a devastating loss that cost her an appearance at SummerSlam. This is a toss-up for us. Blake Monroe’s confidence is sky-high; that said, Giulia might be more fired up than ever and would want to make a statement win in Toronto.
