Fernando Mendoza has the unfortunate task of being the first overall draft pick this year. Whether it is fair or not, that comes with a ton of pressure and he may be feeling it early on in the pre-season. Against the Houston Texans in their second pre-season game the first round pick threw an 80-yard pick six and failed to tackle the defender down the field.
As you can imagine, fans had a field day with the play.

Fernando Mendoza Throws Bad Pick Six In Pre-Season Game
For the Raiders, Fernando Mendoza started along with the majority of the Raiders‘ second team offense. It wasn’t a good start. Mendoza threw a short dump pass over the middle that Wade Woodaz picked clean and returned 80 yards for a touchdown on his fifth play.
Mike Washington may have made the mistake by moving after the pass was thrown, leaving Woodaz in perfect position to catch the ball and score.

- defensive coordinators really said “ok we studied one play on film” and the raiders still fell for it this is why i don’t gamble
