Steph De Lander has addressed growing speculation surrounding her future, confirming that she remains a free agent despite becoming a familiar face on ROH programming. However, her latest comments suggest her contract status may not stay the same for long, adding another layer of intrigue ahead of a major title opportunity. The former WWE star has been gaining momentum since returning to the ring and could soon find herself taking another significant step. For now, though, she’s keeping the door open while letting her work do the talking. Steph De Lander addresses her contract status ahead of ROH Death Before Dishonor After departing TNA Wrestling in March, De Lander began appearing regularly on Ring of Honor television in June. She quickly found herself in the Pure division, where she entered a rivalry with ROH Women’s Pure Champion Deonna Purrazzo. Speaking with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp ahead of Friday’s ROH Death Before Dishonor, De Lander confirmed she has not signed a contract with ROH or AEW. “Right now I am still a free agent,” she said before adding, “I think that’ll change pretty soon.” De Lander quickly clarified that she wasn’t making any announcement, saying, “I’m not gonna speak on behalf of anyone else.” She also stressed that she’s enjoying her current position rather than searching for another opportunity. “I’m really enjoying what I’m doing and where I’m at. It’s not like I’m out here clawing for the next opportunity. I am in a great opportunity. So I’m going to rock with that for where I’m at and see where that leads me,” she explained, before reiterating, “For technicality purposes right now, still a free agent.” Those comments are likely to fuel speculation, but they stop short of confirming any deal. Like a well-timed near fall, De Lander teased the possibility without ringing the bell on an announcement. Her focus now shifts to ROH Death Before Dishonor on Aug. 21, where she challenges Purrazzo for the ROH Women’s Pure Championship. Their previous encounter ended prematurely after Purrazzo suffered an injury before the match could air, giving this title bout even more significance as De Lander looks to capitalize on her recent momentum.
