Michael Carrick commented on his expectations for the new campaign with Manchester United.

The Red Devils have picked up the most points in the Premier League since their permanent head coach was appointed to take the role on an interim basis in January, finishing third in the table.
They now hope to take more steps towards the top while competing across multiple fronts.
"I feel good, as you would expect. Really looking forward to another season. They come thick and fast, so it is about making the most of everything that's in front of us. I am really encouraged with the work we have done pre-season on the training ground. Mostly in the games I think it has been really good. Very much looking forward to the first game and a tough one on Saturday.
"Whatever I say [about our ambitions for the season], it is about what we do and what we can do, what we are capable of doing. What we believe we can do as a group. I think the run of form we had last season gave us a lot of confidence, but we know there is a whole new step to make as a group.
"We're pushing to do that. It is exciting. We have potential to achieve things. We are giving everything that we can. We have got to believe that we're a good team and that we can do good things."
A trip to the MKM Stadium starts the season for United in the early kick-off on Saturday afternoon.
Hull City are back in the Premier League for the first time since 2017, and the excitement at the return to the topflight is likely to give the hosts an extra edge that their opponents must acknowledge.
"Certainly, for teams coming up in the league, for the most part, there tend to be quite a few changes in the playing group, so that is always the challenge playing against them. There is that freshness, there is that buzz around the football club of coming into the Premier League and what that brings.
"Again, we are fully aware of that, we will be prepared, obviously. Mentally and physically, we have done a lot of work. Mentally, we will be prepared. We know what the game is going to bring and how good we need to be to bring the right result.
"There are no favourable starts. It is a tough start. Both teams, but not getting past Saturday, a newly promoted team away from home is a tough, tough game. I’ve been involved in them in the past, so I’m fully aware of what's at stake and what's coming at us on Saturday and what we have to be ready for.”
