Manchester United are edging closer to securing their third midfield signing, Carlos Baleba. Having already signed Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans, United are now in talks with Brighton for the signature of Baleba, who dreams of a move to Old Trafford. INEOS are reportedly confident of striking an agreement with Brighton after making a bid in the region of £65 million. This will take the club’s spend on midfielders to around £150m. Still, United remain in the market for another midfielder. Manchester United pursuing Louis Page Before Manchester United advanced their pursuit of Carlos Baleba, they explored a move for Leicester City midfielder Louis Page. Given how highly rated the 18-year-old is, owing to his physicality and technical prowess, many thought he would be United’s third midfield signing. However, Baleba now seems set to fill that role under Michael Carrick this summer. Still, this has not deterred INEOS’s pursuit of Page. However, it has been previously reported that Page favours a move to United, whom he supposedly grew up supporting. It will be interesting to see how Baleba’s potential arrival would impact Page’s decision-making, given he may not be included in Carrick’s first-team plans immediately. Page made 18 appearances for the Foxes in the Championship last term.
