According to a recent X post by NFL analyst Warren Sharp, the Raiders’ quarterbacks were placed under center 63 percent of early downs in the first half. That was up from 43 percent during last year’s preseason under former offensive coordinatorr Chip Kelly. The 20 percent increase was one of the highest in the league in Week 1 this year. We should expect that trend to continue tonight when the Raiders play at the Houston Texans and into the regular season. In other Raiders’ news: JPJ had another dumb penalty...Caleb Rogers is nipping at his heels. JPJ is a repeat offender...Kubiak will not tolerate it and rightfully so...He has a history of dumb penalties and he couldn't make it as a Center...It seems like he is on thin ice even though he has a lot of potential as a player...But as soon as you see him make a penalty that can cost them a game...especially when you have Caleb Rogers who has really stepped it up this offseason...The word is that Caleb has been showing up on Maxx time, putting in overtime in the weight room and on the field...JPJ apparently came in overweight and out of shape...Because of his injury history and the dumb penalties, he should be relegated to a back up role...There's still a chance over the next few weeks for JPJ to redeem himself....We just want the best RG on the field...I love his tenacity and determination, I just hope he can step up and help his team that desperately needs sound play on the field...If not...They will put someone in who does.
