KAJANG, Aug 20 (Bernama) -- Perak archer Puteri Qaira Hairol Supfian bounced back from the disappointment of settling for silver in the qualifying round to win the women’s individual compound 50-metre (m) gold at the Selangor 2026 Malaysia Games (SUKMA) today. The 15-year-old edged Sabah’s Catherine Looi Mei Qi Abdullah 143-142 in a closely fought final at the INSPEN Stadium here to claim the gold medal. The victory was particularly sweet for Puteri Qaira as she avenged her defeat to Catherine in the qualifying round, where she also lost by just one point. “Not really (for revenge).
