Joe Hart was back at Celtic Park as the Hoops secured a first-leg Champions League play-off victory, and the former goalkeeper has taken to social media to celebrate his return. Hart was on co-commentary duties for TNT Sports as he watched Martin O’Neill’s side seal a 3-0 win over LASK. The 39-year-old couldn’t hide his excitement when Camilo Duran’s tremendous volley gave Celtic a two-goal lead. He gave a description of Benjamin Nygren’s “massive goal” and Duran’s “beautiful” second strike, but his simple “wooo!” for the Colombian’s first was perhaps his best piece of commentary on the night. Hart has taken to social media to share a photo of him and Schmeichel at Parkhead. “Back in the mix. Celtic Park was rocking last night. @kasperschmeichel flying in his new career”, he said. Hart retired in 2024 and received a fitting send-off by the Celtic support as they secured the Scottish Cup with a win over Rangers at Hampden. The former England international couldn’t hide his emotions as he brought an end to a brilliant 21-year career. Schmeichel was forced into retirement during last season and required surgery on multiple injuries to his shoulder and arm. His performances declined rapidly as Viljami Sinisalo stepped in and has remained the number one since. Despite not being given the ending he wanted, Schmeichel still raves about the Hoops support and how special his time at the club was. Two different endings to long and successful careers, but both men remain the same in their love for Celtic. View this post on Instagram
