Good morning everyone and welcome to part two of our Premier League kits. Yesterday we took a look at the best and worst home kits - today we’re checking out the away kits. The Hoddle of Coffee: Tottenham Hotspur News and Links for Thursday, August 20 Do you feel that? It’s the excitement building up to the beginning of the season! Worst: Bournemouth Disgusting shirt sponsor aside, this is a terrible kit. If you’re going to do purple, do it well (see Spurple). Bournemouth are 0-2 on the season. Best: Sunderland Now contrast that with Sunderland, who are 2-0 for kits this year. Pink is a brave colour to choose, but they do it well. It might be a little too much black on the shoulders, but I think it works okay. Also love the pink club crest. Worst: Hull City It’s kind of a shame for Hull City, who put out a decent home kit this year. It’s a strange minimalist-adjacent design but the orange and black on the shoulders don’t really work. I think it’d be a much better kit if it were white with the black and orange piping on just the collar and sleeves. Best: Liverpool Simple, clean, efficient from Liverpool. You’ve got the Liverbird in a shield, and I’m a big fan of the retro-looking v-neck on it too. Fund fact: Fitzie used to wear v-necks often (not so much these days). Worst: Ipswich Town This will probably look good on professional athletes who have a body fat composition of anywhere between 4-6%. For the average fan, horizontal stripes aren’t your friend. I don’t think the rest is that awful, to be fair . The off-white doesn’t really work for me. Maybe if it was a different colour I’d think differently of this. Best: Leeds A gorgeous away kit featuring Leeds’ classic crest. The subtle Yorkshire rose design looks really solid, especially contrasted with that crest. The colours are incorporated beautifully too. I don’t know: Fulham Fulham took a swing and I support it. What i do like is the club crest and collar. But that messy checkerboard pattern is a whole different story. Do I love it? Do I hate it? I’m not sure. I don’t know if I ever will.
