An absent AEW star could be much closer to stepping back between the ropes than many fans realized. A new report has revealed that Ruby Soho has already earned medical clearance for an in-ring return, although her comeback has yet to materialize on television.
The update adds another layer to Soho’s lengthy absence from AEW programming. While she’s been away from the spotlight for personal reasons, reports suggest the wait is no longer about medical clearance, leaving fans wondering when she’ll finally shuffle back into the mix.
Ruby Soho reportedly cleared, but AEW return plans remain uncertain
According to Fightful Select, Ruby Soho was cleared to wrestle “a couple of months ago.” The report also states that she attended AEW television tapings in Cincinnati back in June, where she underwent medical evaluations with AEW’s medical team ahead of a potential return.
Fightful Select further reported that creative discussions regarding Soho’s return have taken place over the past few months. However, nothing has come to fruition, and she has not emerged as a regular backstage presence during that time.
Soho has been away from AEW television since February 2024. She stepped away after announcing her pregnancy alongside her husband, Angelo Parker, and welcomed their child in October 2024. During her time away from wrestling, the couple also opened a board game café.
The former WWE Superstar, known to many as Ruby Riott, joined AEW in 2021 following her WWE release. Since arriving, she has become a familiar face in the women’s division before pressing pause on her in-ring career for family reasons. Now, it appears the medical hurdle has already been cleared, even if creative hasn’t yet pulled the trigger.
For now, reports indicate that Soho is healthy enough to compete, but her return timeline remains unclear. Until AEW rolls the dice on her comeback plans, fans may have to wait a little longer before seeing her back inside the squared circle.
