University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa outside hitter Cha’lei Reid was named to the 2026 Mountain West Women’s Volleyball Preseason Team as the Rainbow Wahine prepare for their first season in the conference. Reid was one of seven players selected by Mountain West coaches. The sophomore led UH with 335 kills and 3.35 kills per set last season, becoming the fourth freshman in program history and first since 2019 to lead the team in kills. She also recorded 44 service aces, UH’s highest single-season total since 2019, and earned Big West All-Freshman Team and All-Big West honorable mention recognition. The Rainbow Wahine were picked fifth in the Mountain West preseason poll. UH opens its first season under Head Coach Joshua Walker on August 28 against Georgia Southern in the Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Volleyball Classic at Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.
