Olympic gold medalist and former two-division UFC champion, Henry Cejudo, will put retirement on hold for a special Misfits boxing match against social media personality and “Sunshine State” yacht bandit Nurideen Shabazz, better known as “Deen the Great,” as part of the promotion’s upcoming fight card on Sept. 26 at James L. Knight Center in Miami, Florida. Henry Cejudo returns to fighting, for some reason, boxes Deen the Great at Misfits card in Miami I’m not sure what there is for Cejudo to gain in this sort of matchup, outside of a quick paycheck, but I guess it’s better than spending your retirement drunk and belligerent. Cejudo, now 39, retired on top back in early 2020 after alcohol and cigarettes helped propel “Triple C” to a second-round technical knockout victory over Dominick Cruz. The Olympian would eventually return in May 2023, lose four straight fights, and get sent back into retirement. As for Shabazz, who is not here to cause panic, his last appearance ended in defeat to Amado Vargas at Misfits Mania last December, his first loss inside the boxing ring. Shabazz, 25, held the Misfits lightweight title for more than 800 days before eventually getting stripped in 2024. No other bouts have been announced for the Sept. 26 fight card; however, you can expect more Misfits matchups to be revealed in the coming days.
