Altitude Sports has landed on its new Denver Nuggets broadcast team.
According to Front Office Sports, Noah Reed has been tabbed as the team’s new play-by-play voice, alongside Katy Winge, who moves up from her previous studio and reporting duties into the color commentary chair. Former two-time NBA Slam Dunk Contest Champion Jason Richardson joins as a studio analyst, despite never playing for the Nuggets across a 13-year career, while Lauren Gardner takes over as studio host and reporter.
The Denver Post reported in June that Kroenke Sports and Entertainment was parting ways with play-by-play voice Chris Marlowe, analyst Scott Hastings, and longtime Nuggets reporter and studio analyst Chris Dempsey. Marlowe joined Altitude at its launch in 2004, making him one of the longest-tenured play-by-play voices in the NBA. Away from the Nuggets, he called beach volleyball at seven Olympics for NBC, most recently in 2024, and won a gold medal himself as part of the 1984 U.S. men’s volleyball team. Hastings has been a fixture in Denver sports media since retiring from the NBA in 1993, working Nuggets and Broncos broadcasts for over three decades. He’ll remain at Altitude as a radio co-host, per the Post.
Reed, a Ball State alum, currently calls college football and basketball for Fox and FS1, plus additional college basketball for NBC and Peacock, after three years doing similar work at ESPN. Winge, his new booth partner, is the first female analyst in Nuggets franchise history; she played college basketball at Illinois State before working her way up through the team’s broadcast rotation as a host, reporter, and now analyst.
Gardner, a Denver native, spent several years covering the Avalanche and Nuggets for Altitude early in her career before leaving for Secaucus in 2019 to join DAZN’s MLB Network-produced baseball coverage. What followed was nearly eight years of hosting across MLB Network and NHL Network, including a stint fronting Off Base from 2022-24 and, most recently, hosting Apple TV’s Friday Night Baseball pre- and postgame coverage. Gardner announced in July that she and her husband were moving back to Colorado to be closer to family.
Altitude also kept radio host Vic Lombardi when it let Marlowe and Hastings go in June, and according to 9 News, he’ll remain the lead studio host and reporter and will be joined by former Nuggets head coach Bill Hanzlik for select games in the studio.
