Martin O’Neill has the team really thriving in attack, while defensively the Hoops look strong when tested. Sinisalo looks ready for the big moments when they come and arguably thrives on them. Donovan, in Alistair Johnston’s absence, ran Camilo Durán close for man of the match. The young Scottish defender looks to have gone up a gear and has a massive future at Celtic. Durán stole the show out of position on the right, with two excellent goals on his left foot after moving inside. A striker by trade, he was on top form, combining well with Benjamin Nygren, who opened the scoring. It finally appears the Hoops are ready for a Champions League campaign. If they can add depth at left-back, a backup goalkeeper and some quality midfield additions, where the real concerns were tonight, the sky is simply the limit. The tie is not over just yet and the team will have that in mind, but a 3-0 win in the first leg showed exactly how well O’Neill has the team playing. This season really could be the one where Celtic finally make their mark in Europe.
