The Dallas Cowboys have many new faces on their defense this year, including a new defensive coordinator. Recently, future Pro Football Hall of Famer Von Miller decided to sign with the Cowboys, capping off what has been an offseason of serious addition on that side of the ball. It has been a stark contrast to 2025 when Dallas parted ways with two of their most high-profile defensive starters: Micah Parsons and Trevon Diggs. Parsons, of course, was traded to the Green Bay Packers, and Diggs joined him there following his release from the Cowboys mid-season. While Parsons is gearing up for Year Two in Green Bay, though, Diggs has finally found a new home. Former Dallas Cowboys All-Pro Trevon Diggs has signed with the Seattle Seahawks Diggs only appeared in one game for the Packers last season, and was not on their postseason roster. When his option for 2026 was declined, the former First Team All-Pro cornerback hit the open market, but did not garner much interest. Recently, they agreed in principle to sign former Detroit Lions defensive back Terrion Arnold, who was released earlier this off-season. The circumstances of his release, though, make his availability complicated. Arnold faces charges of robbery and kidnapping, and likely will start the season on the commissioner’s exempt list while the legal process plays out. Because Seattle is not sure they will be able to have Arnold available at any point this year, they added Diggs as a security measure. Unfortunately, the former Cowboys star may not provide all that much security. In 2021, Diggs was a First Team All-Pro and Pro Bowl selection after leading the league with 11 interceptions. He also had 21 passes defended. The following year, Diggs was named to the Pro Bowl again after logging three interceptions and 14 passes defended. Since then, though, he has not been nearly as productive. In 2023, Diggs missed all but two games of the season due to injury. In 2024, he played in 11 games and logged two interceptions. Last season, playing without Parsons forcing quarterbacks into hurried throws, though, Diggs gave up a 75.0% completion percentage, four touchdowns, and 154.1 passer rating when targeted. Green Bay, with all of their secondary woes, did not even see fit to play Diggs outside of a meaningless game at the end of the season when they rested their starters. Seattle may be excited to get a former All-Pro on their championship defense, but they are getting a player who has yet to prove the early years of his career were not a fluke.
