Let’s start off by congratulating all-time great Denver Bronco Von Miller on signing with the Dallas Cowboys. While I doubt I’ll be cheering to see his team win, I’ll definitely be cheering for our guy to have a successful season and rack up more sacks for his career. If the football gods are feeling feisty, they could cause a lot of belly-ache in Broncos Country by having this season end in a Broncos vs Cowboys Super Bowl… 4 Players the Denver Broncos should consider extending this year The Denver Broncos have cap space to use this season. Who is worth extending early? I was curious to see what kind of deal Von would get in Dallas, and it got me to thinking about the Broncos cap situation in 2026. Currently, according to overthecap.com, the Broncos have ~$36M in cap space. That’s a lot of flexibility for the team, but I honestly can’t for the life of me think of a free agent they should look at bringing in. So the next logical thing to look at is who on this team the Broncos could extend and put some of that cap space to use on? The list of UFAs in 2027 is quite long, but here are the guys I’m thinking are worth a look at extending sooner rather than later: Ja’Quan McMillian - Ja’Quan is a flat-out playmaker. He’s deserving of a 3-4 year deal and a guy that I’d love to see retire as a Bronco. Riley Moss - Unless you are planning on letting him hit free agency and sliding Jahdae Barron into his starting spot, this is a deal that has to be done. Moss is a hell of a player and is another guy that hasn’t hit his ceiling yet. Marvin Mims - Mims has been a true weapon for this team as a returner, and he’s not stopped growing as a receiver. Even with the WR room thicker with talent, Mims is a playmaker who has real clutch ability. Brandon Jones - He’s a superb safety, and if the coaches think he has a couple years left in the tank, that’s an easy extension to get done that shouldn’t break the bank. Now that the Broncos aren’t burdened with expensive dead money from bad choices in the past, they are able to strategically put the cap to use and extend players early instead of late, which should save money in the long run.
