Alpecin-Premier Tech has a young, inexperienced team for the Vuelta a España. The Belgian squad is aiming for stage victories with Kaden Groves, but is otherwise relying on riders who have little or no experience in the Grand Tours. However, they have the potential to shine on any terrain. Groves was supposed to be in his final season with Alpecin-Premier Tech, but he’ll now get one more chance to shine in the Vuelta a España. The Australian sprinter, who has already won two stages in the Giro d’Italia and one stage in the Tour de France, has not had a successful season and was uforced to withdraw from this year’s Giro. The Belgian is 31 but is in his first year at the WorldTour level and will have the chance to immediately prove himself as the lead-out rider for Groves’ sprint train.
