EK Prosper is now just one match away from winning AAA gold after earning a shot at the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship on the August 18 episode of WWE NXT. Prosper defeated La Parka, Romeo Moreno, and Tristan Angels in a Fatal Four-Way #1 Contender’s Match to earn the opportunity. The victory gives Prosper his first chance to win an AAA championship since joining WWE. He will face Fenix for the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship on the August 25 episode of NXT. The action soon moved to ringside, where Moreno dove over the ropes and took out Prosper and Angels. La Parka then hit a moonsault from the top of the ringpost and took down all three opponents. The match eventually returned to the ring, but the momentum kept changing hands. Angels hit Prosper with a backstabber before La Parka got involved. Moreno then connected with a missile dropkick that left all four wrestlers down. Prosper fought back. He used Angels as a springboard to hit Moreno with a DDT. Angels answered with an uppercut and a suplex from the second rope. Moreno later looked ready to win after climbing to the top rope. La Parka stopped him, setting up a huge Spanish Fly. Prosper then broke up the pin attempt with a frog splash. The final moments featured Prosper, Moreno, and Angels trading superkicks. Moreno then landed on top of Prosper, making it look like he had accidentally stolen the win. However, La Parka broke up the pin before the referee could count to three. Angels tried to take advantage of the situation, but Prosper stopped him. He then climbed to the top rope and hit Moreno with a moonsault, getting the three-count and winning the match.
