Norwich slap huge price tag on Toure, earning ‘significant interest’ from four clubs as Aussie Hull legend declares ‘he’ll suit them’

Socceroo Mohamed Toure is generating significant interest from a quartet of leading clubs, with the likes of Galatasaray, Sporting CP, Porto and Hull City casting a serious eye over the clinical young striker. However, no concrete offers have as yet been forthcoming- and Norwich would likely ask up to $30 million for the 22-year-old fresh off three World Cup appearances for Australia. The Sporting CP connection is particularly poignant, springing off the back of fellow Socceroo and close pal Nestory Irankunda’s huge money move from Watford to the Portuguese giants just last week. The prospect of the ex-Adelaide United pair reuniting is plausible, stemming as it does from the $25 million (plus around $5 million in bonuses) it took for Watford for part with Irankunda. That deal was brokered by former Melbourne Victory star turned player agent Fahid Ben Khalfallah. Currently in England, Khalfallah also represents Toure who is open to fast-tracking his career to the next level. If a serious offer comes from Hull – the new home of all-time record Australian signing Lucas Herrington – Sporting CP, Porto or Turkish giants Gala – Norwich retain the upper hand, with Toure tied to the club until 2030. However, whilst they would aim high, the Championship club might conceivably settle for around the $20 million mark, having snapped Toure up for a bargain $5 million. Hull’s interest comes fresh from their signing of Toure’s Socceroos teammate Herrington. Speaking to Football360 Today for an episode on Hull City to air later this week, former Socceroos star Richard Garcia, a Tigers fan favourite from his stint there 2007-2012, including Premier League promotion, said his former club and Toure would be a great fit. “I definitely think so,” he said of the move, hearing about it for the first time. “I think he’s done really well in the Championship. He’s done a great job. He started off the season with a goal and done really well. For me, he’s got some very, very good attributes and he doesn’t show any fear, which is fantastic. I think he’ll suit them. “So if that does transpire, I think it’s a great move. And I’m pretty sure that he’ll excel at that level as well. “It will take him a while to find his feet and obviously Premier League defenders are a little bit different to the defenders in the Championship but I’m sure he’ll make a good job of it if he does go there.” Toure became an almost overnight sensation at Carrow Road last season – netting 10 goals in 12 appearances (nine in the league). Already up and running with a goal in the Canaries’ 3-0 Carabao Cup win over MK Dons, Toure is looking to build on the spectacular baptism in England which has turned so many heads. He didn’t add to his tally in his club’s 2-1 opening round loss at the weekend to West Brom but his stocks remain sky high, with suitors convinced they can capitalise on his lethal eye for goal.
