Von Miller is already considered to be a future first ballot Hall of Fame pass rusher. His 138.5 career sacks rank ninth all-time (officially) and he is one of the few defensive players ever to be named Super Bowl MVP. Combined with his eight Pro Bowls and seven All-Pro selections, he has quite the Hall of Fame resume. And just recently, he decided to keep his Hall of Fame career going by signing with the Dallas Cowboys. While the decision to keep playing was a recent one, Miller revealed that a chance encounter earlier this year helped him decide that signing with the Cowboys was the right thing to do. Von Miller reveals he ran into Dak Prescott before signing with the Dallas Cowboys When speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Miller revealed that he ran into Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott while gambling in Las Vegas, Nevada. He felt compelled to join him at a high-stakes table and told him that he [Miller] thought this was the year Dallas finally was going to go on a run. “It’s crazy because I ran into Dak in Vegas probably like a month ago,” Miller said. “He was sitting in the high-limit gambling. I just sat down with Dak and we just started gambling together and talking. And I’m like, ‘Hey man, it’s about time, Dak. It’s about time. You got to break through with one of these teams. You got to break through one of these years. I think this year you’ll be able to do it. You got everybody to do it.’ “And I didn’t have any inkling on being a Dallas Cowboy. It just happened naturally. And then the Cowboys reached out and I was just like, ‘Bro, this is a sign. This is a sign for me.’” As was the case in Washington, Miller is not going to be an every-down player. He will be brought in for specific packages and on obvious passing downs. However, that role allowed him to get 9.0 sacks last year. If he can have the same kind of success in Dallas this year, well, it really could be the year it finally happens for the Cowboys.
