Dan Kelly wants to steer Shelbourne to a shock win over Ajax next week in Dublin - and then give Julian Brandt a piece of his mind. Kelly, a Leeds United fan, was convinced that Brandt would move to Elland Road this summer from Borussia Dortmund. Instead, the 30-year-old Germany international opted to sign a three-year deal with Ajax and on Thursday night he came off the bench against Shels. Kelly’s late goal in a 3-1 defeat has given the Dublin outfit with a glimmer of hope ahead of next Thursday’s second leg at Tolka Park. Kelly said: “They're some unbelievable players and people that have done it for a good few years at the top level and internationally. “It's incredible, you're obviously waiting for their jerseys after. You don't want to seem to be too nice because you obviously have to play them next week. “But we're a small team from Ireland so you never get a chance to play in these big competitions in these big stages. “Thankfully, we've done it tonight and we've done ourselves proud.” Asked whose jersey he got, Kelly replied: “I got Julian Brants, yeah. So I'm happy with that. “To be fair, I thought he was going to sign for Leeds, I'm obviously a Leeds fan, so I was going to say it but I'll save that conversation for next week.”
