AEW star Dustin Rhodes has deleted his reaction to an anti-Islam post on X after Mustafa Ali called him out for allegedly showing support for the message. An X user shared a photo of herself armed and wearing a shirt featuring a women’s restroom sign with the words “Come And Take It.” The post was captioned, “Hey ISLAM, come at take it. I dare ya.” Rhodes responded to the post with a heart emoji and a rock-on emoji. Ali, who is Muslim, reacted to Rhodes’ response and expressed his disappointment with the former AEW TNT Champion. “I respect you and your family immensely. You showing support to something like this is really disappointing,” Ali wrote. Ali has spoken throughout his wrestling career about experiencing anti-Muslim sentiment. Rhodes has since deleted his reaction and apologized for engaging with the post. He explained that he had only noticed the firearm in the photo and did not read the caption before liking it. “My apologies for liking a firearm pic. Did not read the caption and that is my bad. I by no means, and you all know, I am not a racist person. We all bleed red. Truthfully liked the firearm in picture, nothing more. I sincerely apologize,” Rhodes wrote. Rhodes also directly apologized to Ali in another message on X. “My apologies @MustafaAli_X. I am not that person. Genuinely like the photo. Did not read caption and don’t agree with that at all,” Rhodes wrote. Ali has not publicly responded to Rhodes’ apology at the time of this writing.
