In April 2025, a freak accident in the weight room rendered Williamson out of the pool for months. With his first race since the injury being in February of this year, Williamson surprised many by performing well at the Pan Pac Trials in Australia in June. Then he went to the Comm Games in July and SWEPT the sprint breaststroke events, and THEN went to Pan Pacs in August and won gold in the 50 breast and bronze in the 100 breast.
