Micah Parsons has never been one to hold back an opinion, and his newest breakdown of the NFL landscape is no exception. Just months removed from tearing his ACL against the Denver Broncos, the Green Bay Packers star sat down with Bleacher Report to preview every division ahead of the 2026 season. His comments about his former team, paired with a wildly different pecking order elsewhere, have fans doing a double take.
Micah Parsons Ranks the Eagles Ahead of His Former Cowboys
Appearing in Bleacher Report’s full division-by-division breakdown series, Parsons dove into the NFC East and did not hesitate to crown the Philadelphia Eagles as his No. 1 team.
Parsons noted plainly: “you don’t know what you’re getting” when explaining why the division is so hard to forecast, pointing to how tightly bunched Philadelphia, Dallas, Washington and New York have become heading into the fall.
The two-time defending division champion Eagles remain the favorites, and Parsons credited Philadelphia’s revamped defense under head coach Nick Sirianni as the deciding factor. Right behind them, Parsons slotted in his old team, the Dallas Cowboys, at No. 2.
He pointed to Dallas beating Philadelphia in their second meeting last season as proof the roster is trending up, especially after the club retooled its front seven this offseason with the addition of Von Miller.
The Washington Commanders landed at No. 3, followed by the New York Giants at No. 4, a projection that quickly drew reaction from fans who felt Parsons was overlooking his old team’s own division rivals.
Micah Parsons’ Surprising AFC West Take
The Bleacher Report series didn’t stop at the NFC East. In a separate teaser clip, the outlet promised that Parsons’ prediction for the AFC West “will shock a lot of people.”
According to the preview, Parsons ranked the Denver Broncos first, the Los Angeles Chargers second, the Kansas City Chiefs third and the Las Vegas Raiders last, a sharp departure from Kansas City’s near decade of division dominance.
Parsons is watching much of this unfold from the sideline. He is still working his way back from the torn ACL and meniscus damage that ended his first Green Bay season early, though his impact on the Packers’ defense was clear even in a partial season.
Parsons remains without a firm return date, though Green Bay hopes to have him back by midseason. The Packers open the 2026 season on September 13 against the Minnesota Vikings, a game that will offer an early gauge of just how accurate his predictions really are.
