Browns Land Dynamic QB Prospect In Early 2027 Mock Draft

The Cleveland Browns just played their first preseason game. Their regular season doesn’t start for 26 days, and they have no idea who their quarterback is going to be in Week 1, or in Week 2, for that matter. But that hasn’t stopped many fans from already looking ahead to the 2027 NFL Draft, and what the Browns might do with their projected early first-round pick. The upcoming quarterback class is considered one of the best in recent years, if some high-profile players actually declare for it. It is so deep, the Browns may not have any problem finding a potential franchise QB of the future. Bleacher Report has posted its first mock draft of the cycle, and it has the Browns landing dynamic QB prospect Dante Moore of the University of Oregon at No. 4 overall. “Moore is a pure pocket passer with natural mechanics,” Dame Parson said. “His game is predicated on accuracy, ball placement and poise, bringing a calm demeanor in big moments and, hopefully, to the Browns offense. The 21-year-old’s strengths should mesh well with the newly drafted receiving talent the Browns added over the last two draft classes in KC Concepcion, Denzel Boston, Isaiah Bond and tight end Harold Fannin Jr.” Bleacher Report determined the draft order based on FanDuel’s Super Bowl odds, adjusted to reflect the NFL playoff format. So, it’s very possible the order will change before next April, when the draft will be held in Washington, D.C. That could turn out to be very important for the Browns, as almost all of the other teams in contention for the No. 1 overall pick are likely looking for a quarterback as well. In this case, the Arizona Cardinals have that choice, and in something of a surprise, they select University of Miami quarterback Darian Mensah. Since transferring from Duke University to the national title contender, Mensah has risen in the 2027 QB rankings. At No. 2 overall, the Miami Dolphins take Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, who may be considered the best overall player in this draft. The Dolphins signed quarterback Malik Willis as a free agent this offseason, and if he does not work out, they could also be in the market for a QB. Now, this is where it gets very interesting for the Browns, and why where they finish in the standings could make all the difference. At No. 3, the New York Jets select Arch Manning, the University of Texas quarterback that Cleveland owner Jimmy Haslam has had his eye on for quite some time. Then, sitting at No. 4, the Browns take Moore, choosing him over Drew Mestemaker of Oklahoma State University, the only other QB listed in the first round.
