Hull City head to Frankfurt with uncertainty as worrying trend reappears

Sergej Jakirovic admits he’s unsure quite how his side look when Hull City travel to Germany this weekend for their penultimate friendly before the big Premier League kick-off.
The Tigers have a growing injury list in a worrying repeat of last season, which was dogged by absences, with the Tigers missing a host of first-team and fringe players.
There was no Lewie Coyle, Charlie Hughes, Matt Targett, Hidemasa Morita, Oscar Zambrano or Darko Gyabi against Kasimpasa in Istanbul last weekend. Targett returned home due to a personal issue, but wouldn't have played anyway with him still not fit enough to be involved.
It’s hoped there will be new arrivals into the squad for Saturday’s game against Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt, which should boost Jakirovic's options.
By the time the Tigers kick off at Frankfurt’s Sportpark Dreieich, it will be less than two weeks until the opening Premier League match of the season against Manchester United, and just one more friendly to go.

“We will play there with more minutes for the players,” he told Hull Live. “More minutes with the main players, and at least 70, 75, we will see.
“What we do there will also depend on our injury list because we have some problems with some of our players in some positions, so this is the plan.”
Frankfurt, who finished eighth in last season’s Bundesliga, just missing out on European football, will likely provide the Tigers with their toughest test of pre-season, and with only Nice to come, a good opportunity to really test themselves.
So far, City have won two and drawn one of their three pre-season games against Turkish Super Lig sides, but the clash against Eintracht will see them step up a level in opposition, themselves unbeaten so far.
“We will try to play a good game against a very difficult opponent,” he continued. “I'm watching the Bundesliga, so I know everything about these teams.
“The play with a very high tempo, intensity, challenges, duels, transitions, so we have to be ready for this game, and I hope we will perform very, very good.”
