There are signs of improvement for
Yael Trepy, the 20-year-old French Cagliari striker who nearly
drowned in the swimming pool of a villa on the Costa Smeralda on
Sunday evening, hospital sources said Tuesday saying he was
still in the intensive care unit.
Trepy remains hospitalized in the Emergency Intensive Care Unit
at the Santissima Annunziata Hospital in Sassari.
According to the Sassari University Hospital report, the player
is still under pharmacological sedation and receiving artificial
ventilation via airway intubation, with respiratory function
improving compared to the severe insufficiency noted upon
admission.
Trepy has no fever, and is continuing with antibiotic therapy
and microbiological tests.
His cardiovascular function is stable.
Today, the AOU continues, following a reassessment of the
patient's respiratory condition with radiological and pulmonary
ultrasound scans, and if the patient's respiratory condition is
consolidated, the sedation will be gradually reduced, with a
reassessment of the patient's clinical response.
The prognosis remains guarded.
Teammates, coaching staff, the club, and fans remain close to
the French striker.
There have been numerous expressions of affection and
encouragement on social media.
His coach, Fabio Pisacane, also expressed his support. "For four
years, I've watched you grow, fight, and overcome every
obstacle," was the message sent by the Rossoblu coach.
"Today you face your most important match: keep fighting, Yael.
I'm by your side as always, and I'm waiting for you."
