HUNDREDS of mourners lined the streets of Barrow on Friday for the funeral of Graham Shaw. Players from many teams came together in their club shirts to pay homage to the former Hindpool Tigers chair, who passed away last month at the age of 44. Local Rugby League journalist Paddy McAteer said: “It was a massive turnout. I’ve never seen a bigger funeral in my life, including the great Willie Horne’s. “Hindpool’s youth players filed into St Mary’s church, following the coffin. The cortege left the church and headed to Hindpool’s ground at Brisbane Road, with hundreds behind. “It was so moving. Police even stopped traffic in roads leading to the ground. Well done to Hindpool for arranging the day, including having three big marquees on the pitch.”
