A 16-member Afghanistan taekwondo delegation has departed for Lahore, Pakistan, to participate in the eighth edition of an international competition organized under the World Taekwondo Federation.
The Afghan delegation consists of six athletes competing in the Kyorugi category and three athletes in Poomsae. It also includes two referees, two coaches, two assistant coaches, and one delegation official.
The competition officially began on August 17 and will continue through August 21 in Lahore. More than 40 countries are taking part in the international event, bringing together athletes and officials from different parts of the world.
The participation of Afghanistan’s taekwondo team provides an opportunity for the country’s athletes to gain international experience and compete against some of the strongest competitors in the sport.
The Afghan athletes are expected to represent the country in both Kyorugi and Poomsae events, while the team’s coaches and officials will support the athletes throughout the competition.
The participation also marks another international appearance for Afghan taekwondo athletes and is expected to contribute to the development of the sport in the country.
The delegation will remain in Lahore for the duration of the competition, which will conclude on August 21. Afghan athletes will be seeking strong performances and medals against competitors from more than 40 participating countries. The Kabul Times
