Liverpool, Everton and Leeds United are in the mix to sign FC Midtjylland’s Darío Osorio this summer.
The winger has been a regular since joining the club from Universidad de Chile in 2023. He’s managed 23 goals and 18 assists from 117 matches, and eight goals and 10 assists were from last season.
His performances have seen him attract interest from several Premier League sides. Last month, Sport Witness covered claims from Chile of Crystal Palace entering the race, while Arsenal were ahead.
Liverpool, Everton and Leeds United keen
Earlier in the window, FC Midtjylland technical director Kristian Kjær confirmed the Gunners’ interest.
It’s unclear whether Arsenal and the Eagles are still keen while Liverpool, Everton and Leeds United have joined the battle for the 22-year-old.
Campo in Denmark states the Premier League trio and AC Milan are keeping a close watch on him.
The Danish club have received specific enquires about the Chile international and the possibility of buying him this summer. The outlet doesn’t specify whether the Reds, David Moyes’ side and Leeds United made approaches.
Hoping for bidding war
In January, Darío Osorio extended his contract until 2030, and Transfermarkt now value him at €15m.
FC Midtjylland value him at DKK 150m [€20m] and are hoping more clubs join Liverpool, Everton and Leeds United so that there’s a bidding war and his price rockets.
The Superliga side are looking to cash in on the Chile international’s sale in this window. He isn’t short of option as clubs from Spain, Germany, Portugal and Turkey are also keen.
However, a move to England or Italy is the ‘most realistic’ option.
Osorio prefers to operate as a right winger. The latest claims state Liverpool’s priority is Paris Saint-Germain’s Ibrahim Mbaye for that position. This could leave Everton, Leeds United to fight for his signature.
The Chilean’s preference among these clubs is unclear for now.
