The 36-year-old arrives at Turf Moor on a free transfer, signing a one-year deal following his departure from Port Vale at the end of last season. With over 350 career appearances to his name, the goalkeeper brings plenty of experience to a relatively youthful Clarets side. But Amos is expected to fulfil a supporting role this coming season to Max Weiss and any other goalkeeper that is brought in between now and the end of the month. “It's obviously something very different for me to previous years,” Amos said of his role at Burnley. “I'm more of a supporting role now for Max and the goalkeepers. “That being said, I want to drive standards every day and push everyone. Click here Amos added: “We've got a blend of experience and young players. There's still a large group of young players that will need guiding from the senior boys. I'm looking to do that and support them as much as possible. “The best of both worlds is the athleticism and the freshness of the young boys, but you also need that experience of boys who have been through a lot, seen a lot and know how to navigate those periods. I hope that's what I can bring.” The former England Under-21 international has represented a number of clubs across his 18-year career, including Bolton Wanderers, Cardiff City, Charlton Athletic and Wigan Athletic, amongst others. He initially came through the youth ranks at Manchester United, making his competitive debut in a Carabao Cup tie against Middlesbrough in 2008. Amos signed on the dotted line on Wednesday, having completed a successful trial period at Gawthorpe. “I'm delighted to be a part of it,” he added. “I had a short trial period last week or so and I'm just really happy to get it done. “I spoke to him [Nicky Hayen] during my trial period and we discussed his philosophy. He's had to try and get a lot of information in quickly to the boys. “He's relaying that to me as well, how he likes the work. Everything's been really professional and I'm excited to carry on learning from him and the rest of the staff.”
